Cindy Yen (Wu)
Cindy Yeh (Wu) Cindy was born and raised in Houston, Texas, yet went on an amazing journey to become well-known Taiwanese singer, songwriter, actress, and producer, Cindy Yen. Being raised by a single parent did not deter Cindy’s dream to become a singer. She obediently took classical piano and violin lessons to satisfy her mother, but did not give up on her true passion, singing!

During college, she auditioned for “American Idol” and was rejected twice by Simon, Paula and Randy! It only made her more determined to hone her singing, songwriting and dancing skills. That focus served her well when she won the title of Miss Chinatown Houston 2008! Wu graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with double degrees in Music – Piano Performance and Broadcast Journalism and was preparing to move to Taiwan to pursue a singing career when she was crowned Miss Chinatown USA 2009 in San Francisco! On her 2009 debut album, a duet sung with Chinese superstar Jay Chou titled “Sand Painting” (composed by Yen with lyrics by Vincent Fang) topped music charts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and China!

Cindy has always had a heart to help others. In January 2010, Cindy became spokesperson for the "Lotus" charity event, aimed at raising money for children. One day Cindy hopes to open a music school or music camp “that can provide a financial-free education for children and give them a chance to creatively express themselves through music.” In November 2010, Cindy performed alongside Jay Chou and Wilber Pan at Soong Ching-Ling’s (Madame Sun Yat-Sen) Charity Foundation event in Shanghai, China. Together, the three artists donated ¥1,500,000 ($250,000USD) for families residing in Eastern China! Cindy recently collaborated with other artists in a fundraising event for Japan called "Believe" to raise money after the recent quake and tsunami. She is currently on tour with Jay Chou and working on her second album, hopefully to be released this summer!
